Nintendo Direct | Famicom Detective Club Coming West

Famicom Detective Club Walks Into the Future

Famicom Detective Club | Nintendo Direct

One of the more surprising reveals from today’s Nintendo Direct was that the Famicom Detective Club games are coming West. We’re getting two modernized and translated games – The Missing Heir and The Girl Who Stands Behind. Each title deals with suspense and solving a case, and look to have supernatural elements in both. I’ve recently become a big fan of VNs, so Famicom Detective Club looks quite interesting.

Famicom Detective Club | Titles

For a historical perspective, the original versions of the games, known as Famicom Tantei Club, released in Japan back in the late 80’s. This is the sort of title Japan didn’t think those of us in the US appreciated. So it’s very cool to see a classic title from Japan make its way over here. Both games have really solid visual design and showcase a lot of personality. And while they will be sold separately, you won’t have to wait long to add them to your collection. The Nintendo Direct confirmed both games are coming May 14th.

If you’re a fan of mystery, menace and a little bit of wonder, stay tuned for some sleuthing in a month!
