Nintendo Download for 1/14/21

The Second Nintendo Download is Also the First

Nintendo Download | Octahedron: Transfixed Edition

Well guys and gals, did you miss me? I certainly missed you and covering the Nintendo Download for HPP last week. But glitches do happen, and thankfully the good folks at Nintendo have things up and running like usual today. So this is officially HPP’s first Nintendo Download of 2021, and there’s an amazing game headlining things. Let’s start with that, and move on to the usual sales and other goodies.

Worth the Wait

Nintendo Download | Scott Pilgrim Complete Edition

I’ve been despondent about not owning the original Scott Pilgrim game for years. It originally came out for two consoles I never purchased, and I was only able to play it at a friend’s house. I absolutely adored the original comic, the movie and the game itself. It showed off the artistry of Tribute Games while evoking classic beat’em up titles of yore. Well, starting today I can make up for the past, since Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition has come to the Switch! I’ve been hyped for this release since it was announced months ago, and I admit I bought it first thing this morning. I’m so hyped I might even double dip and get the physical edition Limited Run Games is working on later. But for today, all that matters is Scott Pilgrim has finally come to the Switch with all the DLC, and I personally couldn’t be happier. Now let’s continue this Nintendo Download with some other DLC news.

  • Let the Gains Begin! – Turn up the heat with the free No Mercy DLC for Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise. This intense workout will see your instructor get a little feisty to push you past that plateau. Get ready for a fierce regimen when Janice, Martina and Sophie take their gloves off and give you the extra motivation you need. They’ll be entering the ring to join the ruthless versions of Lin, Evan, Karen and Hiro, who just launched last month. Don’t worry, you can always change back to mellower versions of your trainer whenever you feel like cooling off. The No Mercy DLC is currently available for free in Nintendo eShop.

Hunt For Some Bargains

Nintendo Download | Down in Bermuda

Now it wouldn’t be a proper Nintendo Download without some sales, so let’s get started with some discounted titles. First up, a few for those of you more thrifty-minded gamers. If you enjoy tactical games set in historical venues, you might enjoy WARSAW, half off for $9.99. If you prefer frenetic nonsense with friends, then I’d direct you to Hot Shot Burn. It’s currently only $7.49, which is quite affordable. For a haunting first person adventure, try Soul Axiom Rebooted for $7.79. Or for a little horror, try Viviette for $6.99. And for some quirky platforming, try Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams – Owltimate Edition for only $5.99.

A Little More, Please

Nintendo Download | Fantasy Tavern Sextet Vol 2

Those above are all great, but here’s some more discounts on great titles. If you’re a fan of Bomberman and cool art, you might enjoy Ponpu for $10.49. For a time traveling puzzle adventure, there’s YesterMorrow for $12.99. Those in search of a new waifu might like Lovekami -Divinity Stage- for only $11.99. Those looking for a charming little game should try Carto for $15.99. And to relive the difficulty of games of the past, try the hard-as-nails Ultracore for only $13.99. Not a bad mix, but let’s finish off this Nintendo Download with some digital fun.

Monsters Make The Nintendo Download Better

Nintendo Download | WRITHE

If you love retro games, you should check out Arcade Archives Rod Land. Fans of Adventure games have a couple to try out – Fantasy Tavern Sextet -Vol.2 Adventurer’s Days- and Red Colony. If you’re in the mood for something truly different, try Bullet Trail. If you want to blast monstrous worms to pieces, try WRITHE. Or for a cute party game, try Clumsy Rush. RPG fanatics might get some enjoyment from Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom. Meanwhile puzzle fans should check out Down in Bermuda. Platformer people can try out Octahedron: Transfixed Edition and PLOID. And lastly, fans of rogue and rhythm should check out the colorful Rhythm Fighter.
