Nintendo Download for 12/10/20

YEEHAW Partners!

Nintendo Download | Boot Hill Heroes

Well guys and gals, you know what day it is! Which means it’s time for a brand-spanking new Nintendo Download! This week still has a handful of featured titles and the usual sales and digital games. It also adds some mobile gaming news onto that for good measure. To start things off, let’s begin with the fusion of two classic puzzle series wrapped up into one complete package.

Start Your Day With A Little DOOM

Nintendo Download | DOOM Eternal

Let me just say, I love half of the first game today. You may have heard of it – it’s called Puyo Puyo Tetris 2. I absolutely adore Tetris, but I’m wicked horrible at Puyo Puyo. But HPP’s own Anthony Pelone covered it admirably for the site. So don’t take my complaints to heart, and read why it’s worth checking out. The next featured title is the latest from the PixelJunk series, called PixelJunk Eden 2. It’s psychedelic, cute and pretty different. You’ll spend your time gathering resources in various biomes. Though I never really got into the series, I can definitely see the appeal. Lastly, if you love murderous demons, look no further than DOOM Eternal (yes, you have to capitalize it). More than anything, I’m impressed they managed to bring another next gen DOOM title to the Switch. Assuming it runs halfway decently, it’s a great addition to any Switch library. Next, let’s check out some mobile game news from Nintendo. And no, that’s not an oxymoron or fever dream.

Science and Magic Fuse! – The latest update to the Fire Emblem Heroes game has arrived. Book V delivers a blast of steampunk-inspired energy to this classic tale of sword and sorcery. With new mechanical armor and special Book V-related events and bonuses, it’s safe to say you’ve never anything like this before in the Fire Emblem Heroes universe. Even novice summoners can jump right into Book V’s story to discover more about the realm of Niðavellir.

Spread Some Holiday ChARm – Tis the season to show off your AR photography skills! Players who log into the Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp game before Jan. 7 at 9:59 p.m. PT will receive a free giant holiday gift box in-game item. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp recently added new AR features, so you can use them with the giant holiday gift box to create an AR greeting card that’s great for the holiday season! With AR Camera, you’ll be able to choose a real-world spot and add your favorite Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp pals to snap a shot. With AR Cabin, you’ll even be able to enter the same space as your animal friends and hang out. Just think of the possibilities for jolly holiday poses! Feel free to join in on the fun by sharing your holiday AR greeting cards via social media and through messaging apps. Be sure to use the hashtag #ACPCHolidaycARd when posting!

Roll The Dice For Luck

Nintendo Download | Dicey Dungeons

You didn’t think that was it for this Nintendo Download, did you? Now it’s time to get thrifty with some sales! For those of you looking to save more bucks, the following titles are definitely promising. If you ever wondered how you’d survive as a ninja ball, then WarriOrb is the game for you. It’s pretty attractive at only $6.49. If you’re more into RPGs than platformers, try the awkwardly titled 9th Dawn III: Shadow of Erthil. It offers hundreds of monsters to slay in an open world setting, for only $9.91. Or if you love robots, you might enjoy Meganoid for only $5.39. For the more socially minded, who like to play with friends, this next game is a steal. For only $6.89 you’ll get multiple co-op games in the Couch Co-Op Bundle Vol. 2. Or if you love indies, try the Digerati Indie Darling Bundle Vol. 3 for $7.56. Those are some wicked sales. But there’s more coming up for those willing to spend a few more bucks.

Embrace Your Strange Side

Nintendo Download | Dark Grim Mariupolis

If you love stunning aesthetics and challenging gameplay, you should absolutely check out Vigil: The Longest Night. It’s somewhat discounted at $18.69, and offers a great Metroidvania experience. If you want to sail into adventure, try Here Be Dragons for $10.79. Or for a rogue tale involving family, try Children of Morta. That’s been on my radar for a while now, and it’s super affordable at $10.99. If you want to play a prehistoric platformer, then you might enjoy Jet Kave Adventure. It’s only $13.39, and has cavemen, aliens and a jetpack. And finally, fans of waifu and horror should definitely dig into Worldend Syndrome. The game is very nicely discounted more than half at $12.00. Having played the demo, I can attest it appears to be a quality game. Now that you’ve all gotten your savings out of the way, let’s close out the Nintendo Download with some digital goodies!

Justice For Retro Fans

Nintendo Download | Tanuki Justice

There’s not as many digital games this Nintendo Download as last, but there’s still some promising titles. Retro fans can rejoice at these titles – Arcade Archives The Fairyland Story and COLLECTION of SaGa FINAL FANTASY LEGEND. If you like games with more story, try Autumn’s Journey and Persian Nights 2: The Moonlight Veil. For something utterly strange, check out Dark Grim Mariupolis. Or for two very different rogue titles, there’s Danger Gazers and the fantastic Dicey Dungeons. Fans of co-op can try Shakes on a Plane. Or for simplistic platforming with a twist, there’s Splashy Cube. If you want a blast from the past, look no further than Drawn to Life: Two Realms. And finally, for 3 games inspired by retro try the following – Boot Hill Heroes, MindSeize and Tanuki Justice.

Let’s Be Legendary

That’s it for this week’s Nintendo Download. Thanks as always for joining us here at HPP for your weekly dose of Nintendo fun. Be sure to tune in next time for hopefully even more videogame bliss!
