Habroxia 2 Brings Retro to Consoles and PC Soon

Time To Return to Space Once More!

Habroxia 2 | Tentacles

Whenever I get PR from the good folks at eastasiasoft, there’s a good chance it’s about a SHMUP. Which is great, since I enjoy the genre. Today, the SHMUP I’m sharing with you all is Habroxia 2. It was developed by Lillymo Games and is the sequel to Habroxia, which launched in 2019. Though that doesn’t tell you a lot about what type of SHMUP this is, perhaps the following will help:

Habroxia 2 is a non-linear, old-school space shooter with upgrades, boss fights, and even New Game+, all wrapped in a retro package combining pixel graphics, chiptunes and stellar gameplay. Along with even more customizable ship upgrades and challenging boss battles, Habroxia 2 will also feature a revamped twin-stick control scheme and branching stages.

It certainly sounds promising. But you’re probably wondering which consoles it’s coming to. Well, the answer is it’s complicated. Habroxia 2 isn’t just coming to the next gen systems this February 3rd. Sure, it’s coming to Switch, Xbox One, PS4 and PC. But you know what else it’s releasing on? None other than the zombie portable, the PlayStation Vita! That’s cool in and of itself. Cause systems don’t truly die until nobody makes games for them or is playing them.

As an added bonus, they also revealed another factoid today. The original game, Habroxia, is finally releasing on Xbox One this December 2nd.

If you’re still on the fence, check out the game summary and trailer below!

About Habroxia 2:

In the aftermath of a brutal attack on Free Space, humanity sends scout ships to the star system that was at the source of the assault. But when one of the pilots doesn’t return home, it’s up to his daughter — the talented starpilot Sabrina — to find him. Habroxia 2 is a non-linear, old-school space shooter with upgrades, boss fights, and even New Game+, all wrapped in a retro package combining pixel graphics, chiptunes, and stellar gameplay.
