Check out Cyberpunk 2077 running on the PS5 via backwards compatibility in the latest gameplay trailer
With the game’s release just weeks away, CD Projekt RED has released a new gameplay trailer for Cyberpunk 2077. The latest footage compares the title’s performance on both the PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility. In it, we’re given a look at an early portion of the Nomad lifepath, where the main character and Jackie are smuggling contraband from the Badlands into Cyberpunk’s futuristic metropolis of Night City.
The trailer does a great job of showcasing Cyberpunk 2077‘s various environments, with the rugged desert roads contrasting starkly against Night City’s neon-lit streets. The trailer concludes with a night drive in a storm that quickly escalates into a high-speed firefight with a van full of gun-toting Scavs.

One thing worth noting is that we’ve yet to see how Cyberpunk 2077 will look on the base PS4 and Xbox One. Judging from what we’ve seen so far, the game clearly pushes the last-gen hardware to its limits. Here’s hoping these versions are able to deliver solid performance when the game finally launches next month.
While Cyberpunk 2077 certainly looks nice on both the PS4 Pro and PS5 through backwards compatibility, I’m really excited to see it running with its full next-gen update that’s coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X next year. One thing’s for sure, this footage is making the wait for the game’s December 10 launch.
So, what do you think of the latest footage? Are you happy with the PS5 version’s bump in visual fidelity? As always, we love to hear what you think. Be sure to sound off in the comments below and let us know.
