Now available, Watch Dogs: Legion lets players recruit a colorful crew of hackers to take down a shadowy new threat
Watch Dogs: Legion, the latest entry in Ubisoft’s hacker-centric open-world franchise, is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PCs.
Set in London in the wake of a terrorist attack by an ominous figure known as Zero-Day, Watch Dogs: Legion is a major departure for the series. The game allows players to recruit anyone they meet to join their cause as a DedSec operative, with each resident of London having their own unique skills and backstory. Want to add an elderly woman to your growing army of cyber-warriors? Have at it! How about an annoying tourist? The sky’s the limit. Well, so long as the sky doesn’t extend beyond the reaches of Ubisoft’s virtual recreation of London.
Curious to see how it works? Have no fear. You can find a trailer explaining this innovative new gameplay mechanic below:
On December 3, Watch Dogs: Legion will be getting an update that adds the following features to the game’s online component:
- Free-roam open-world co-op where players can team up with their friends for up to four-player co-op and explore the city of London and participate in side activities
- New co-op missions for two-to-four players using new co-op gameplay mechanics and giving players the opportunity to recruit the perfect team
- Four-player co-op Tactical Ops missions which will require teamwork and efficiency
- The first available Player-vs-Player (PvP) mode, Spiderbot Arena, where four-to-eight players control armed spiderbots and compete in a high-intensity free-for-all deathmatch
