Top 10 Superhero Video Games of The 2010s

1. Arkham City

I know. A LOT of people will argue Spider-Man is the better game. But here’s something that’ll surprise you: I’m actually a Spider-Man fan, and even I can admit that though Spider-Man for PS4 is a fantastic game… it would take A LOT for a videogame to top Arkham City off of the #1 spot for me. Not only did Arkham City give us an explorable Gotham City for the first time in Batman history, but it also somehow took the most beautiful aesthetics and gameplay from the original game and brought it into this one. With expanded controls and grounded gameplay, there was a lot to praise about Arkham City. And unlike Arkham Asylum, where things felt ridiculous yet self-contained on Arkham Asylum island, everything in City is high stakes and ends in such beautiful and tragic ways. There is love, there is loss, and there are lessons to be had.

Which many will argue that PS4’s Spider-Man did much of the same. Yet there’s one huge factor in Arkham City‘s favor that gives it an edge for G.O.A.T.: that there so much investment from both the writing and acting teams behind the Animated series. Because this wasn’t just a Batman game. It was a farewell to Paul Dini and, at the time, the end of Mark Hamill’s career as the Joker. Which is why this is easily the greatest Superhero Video game ever created in my book.

But hey, that’s just my opinion. Did you like the list? Feel free to comment below and be sure to check out our Marvel’s Avengers Review.
