AtGames Wants To Bring The Arcades To Your TV With The Legends Gamer Series System

Now available to pre-order, AtGames’ Legends Gamer Series allows you to play up to 150 built-in console and arcade classics on the big screen.

Following last week’s release of the company’s full-size Legends Ultimate Home Arcade machines, AtGames has announced that the Legends Gamer series of home arcade systems are now available for pre-order.

Unlike the Legends Ultimate Home Arcade, which has been designed to replicate the arcade experience at home fully, the Legends Gamer series instead is a plug-and-play system meant to be experienced on your television.

Available in three varieties starting at $99 for the Legends Gamer Mini, they use the same technology that powers AtGames’ upright machines. Each system is compatible with any HDMI-based projector, monitor, or TV display (even featuring support for verticle, or “tate” play) and comes equipped with high-quality joysticks, buttons, and a trackball.

As far as software goes, the units include 100-150 built-in licensed games from Data East, Disney, Jaleco, Taito, The Tetris Company, just to name a few. Additionally, you’ll be able to add new games though AtGames’ own ArcadeNet subscription service and BYOG. Add to this voice chat, global leaderboards, a friend system, and more and you’ve got one capable little retro-gaming battle station.

“The community spoke and we are responding,” says Dr. Ping-Kang Hsiung, CEO of AtGames in a press release distributed today. “People love the Legends Arcade experience, but not everyone has the space or budget for a full-size machine. Our fans let us know they wanted more ways to get the true arcade experience, which is why we are adding the Gamer Series to the Legends Arcade family.”

You can find a list of the three available systems and their features below:

  • The Legends Gamer Pro (MSRP $249). The most full-featured of the Gamer series, it includes a trackball in addition to arcade quality joysticks, pinball buttons, and 150 built-in licensed games.
  • The Legends Gamer (MSRP $199) Great for two-player action, it features two arcade-quality joysticks and pinball buttons, and includes the same 150 built-in licensed games as the Gamer Pro. A trackball is optional.
  • The Legends Gamer Mini  (MSRP $99) For solo players, it has a single arcade-quality joystick as part of its wireless control top, 100 built-in licensed games, and eight action buttons. Pinball buttons are optional.

If you’re interested in adding one of these to your collection, you can pre-order the Legends Gamer Series at AtGames’ online store.

So, what do you think of the look of AtGames’ latest offering? Will you be adding one of these to your collection when they ship in early October? As always, we love to hear what you think. Sound off in the comments section and let us know.
