Developers Square Enix have announced plans to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their SaGa series by releasing Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend for the Nintendo Switch. It will be released at the end of this year on 15th December and will feature the first three titles in the SaGa series: The Final Fantasy Legend, Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III. The series made its debut for the Game Boy, with the first title appearing in 1989.
The remastering of the original titles will include adjustable screen magnification, a speed boost for characters, and a retro display mode modeled after the original Gameboy. Additionally, the collection will also have an anniversary song to commemorate the thirty years, eight in-game wallpapers, and the choice to play with Japanese or English text.
Finally, Square Enix released a brief trailer for the collection. The footage showcases the three Game Boy classics featured in the collection, wallpapers, and more.
