In other Yakuza: Like A Dragon News, SEGA also revealed in a press release that the game, which was previously announced for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Series X with Smart Delivery, will also be making its way to the PlayStation 5 in the west. More details on the PS5 version of the game, including the upgrades it will feature, will be revealed at a later date.
Lastly, SEGA announced that actor George Takei is lending his talents to the game to portray the role of yakuza boss Masumi Arakawa. The patriarch of the Awakawa Family, a former Tojo Clan and now Omi Alliance subsidiary, he currently serves as the acting leader of the Omi Alliance.
A significant departure from the previous entries in the series, Yakuza: Like A Dragon stars Ichiban Kasuga, who returns to Japan’s shadowy underworld after spending 18 years in prison. The game exchanges the bare-knuckle beat-’em-up action of its predecessors in favor of turn-based battles more reminiscent of classic RPGs and even includes a class system.
Yakuza: Like A Dragon will be releasing on the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC this November.
