Route 59 Games to brew up console versions of Necrobarista in 2021
Necrobarista, Melbourne-based indie studio Route 59 Games’ cel-shaded supernatural visual novel about a café in limbo, is now available on Steam for $19.99 and as part of the Apple Arcade subscription service.
Console players hoping to brew up a pot of eerie adventure will have to wait a bit longer. The developer plans to release the Switch and PS4 versions of the game in 2021.
“After years of pouring ourselves into Necrobarista, we can finally say it’s finally ready,” said Kevin Chen, lead designer, Route 59 Games. “This a special brew of what we love and who we are, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created. Thanks to everyone who has joined us on this journey, and we can’t wait to see your reactions now that Necrobarista is out on PC.”

Here’s a summary of the game courtesy of the developer:
“Step into The Terminal, a magical café at the junction between the world of the living and the great beyond. Along with pouring flat whites and long blacks, this coffeehouse provides a special service for the dead, allowing them to live for one final night before crossing over.
Hidden in the laneways of Melbourne, Australia, The Terminal is populated by a flavorful blend of characters, ranging from its necromantic owner Maddy Xiāo to legendary bushranger Ned Kelly, each with their own stories to tell. Bewitch brews with dark and delicious spells while managing day to day café operations and unraveling the mysteries that lurk within its walls.
