Ys IX: Monstrum Nox

Today during the New Game Plus Expo, publisher NIS America announced that Nihon Falcom’s Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will be making it’s way to the PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC next year.

Initially released in Japan on September 26, 2019, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is the ninth mainline entry in the long-running action RPG series. The game once again stars the fiery-haired swordsman Adol Christin who, after arriving with his companion Dogi at the Romun Empire-annexed city of Balduq, is captured and detained. While imprisoned, Adol meets the mysterious Aprilis, who uses her powers to transform him into a Monstrum – a creature who can exorcise monsters – to combat the threats originating from a dark dimension known as Grimwald Nox and unravel the city’s secrets.
