Itch.io’s Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality Raised $8,174,581.26

Two good causes received $4M each thanks to you, gamers

On Monday, June 15, Itch.io’s Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality closed its sale with a final total raised of $8,174,581.26. There were 814,520 contributors who donated an average of $10.03, and the top contribution was $5,000.

All proceeds will be split 50/50 between two organizations: the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Community Bail Fund.

Although many, many developers submitted their projects to the bundle, perhaps indie dev Rami Ismael’s final thoughts on the matter summed up the creators’ feelings best in a 6 part tweet Monday evening:

Born at a very young age; self-made thousandaire. Recommended by 4 out of 5 people that recommend things. Covered in cat hair. Probably the best sleeper in the world. Still haven't completed the civil war quest in Skyrim but I'm kind of okay with that. Too rad to be sad.
