Raze the human domain and enslave their fallen to fight alongside you in The Unliving
Team17 today announced a partnership with RocketBrush Studio to release the indie developer’s debut dark fantasy roguelite, The Unliving.
Currently being developed for PC, The Unliving marries roguelite and real-time strategy elements, allowing players to use the forbidden powers of necromancy to amass a legion of undead and wage war against humanity. Once killed, the humans you kill can be “recruited” to fight alongside your undead horde.
Take a look at the game’s reveal trailer below:
“The Unliving is the first title RocketBrush Studio has developed in its entirety as a team, and we’re thrilled to have Team17 on board to help us realize the vision we have for this ambitious undead title,” said RocketBrush founder Aleks Rublev in a press release distributed today. “We can’t wait for players to be able to experience commanding an increasingly powerful army of the dead to crush their enemies on the scale we’ve created in-game.”
Max Everingham, Head of Publishing, Team17, said, “Bringing The Unliving to our ever-expanding and creative stable of games at Team17 underlines our commitment to support great games and help studios realize their ambitions. RocketBrush Studio already has a track record in delivering distinctive in-game art assets for developers, and now it’s their turn to create a game themselves. The Unliving’s combination of real-time strategy, roguelite, and RPG gameplay promises a brand-new experience for players looking to test their skills.”
At the time of this writing, the release window for The Unliving has yet to be announced. However, we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we find out.
