“As some of you know, Samurai Shodown is making its way to the Epic Games Store,” the game’s producer Nobuyuki Kuroki said in a brief video statement in celebration of the game’s upcoming release on PC. “We are also planning to hold a special pre-order campaign for this occasion. We hope you’ll stay at home and enjoy some Samurai Shodown when it releases.”
Originally released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last June before finding its way to the Switch in February of this year, Samurai Shodown is a prequel to the iconic 1993 Neo Geo title. Set in Japan in the 1700s, the game features 13 returning characters and 3 all-new warriors to take control of, including the daring pirate Darli Dagger.
We scored the game a 4.5 out of 5 in our review saying, “Samurai Shodown is a triumphant return to form for SNK’s flagship weapons-based fighter series that demands your attention.”
