How to Unlock Sable’s Patterns in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Aww, sis!

If you’ve been playing Animal Crossing for some time, chances are you have opinions one way or another on the quietest Able sister, Sable. Most people love her; I mean, I do too, but I honestly have a lot of guilt surrounding her, since speaking to her every day just to get patterns out of her feels fake af. But I digress…

You’re here to learn how to get patterns from the eldest hedgehog seamstress, right? Right. Here’s how to unlock all of Sable’s patterns in Animal Crossing: New Horizons:

First, you’re going to actually need the Able Sisters shop, so if you haven’t taken care of that already, read more about getting the Able Sisters shop here. Assuming you’re good to go and have the shop open, it’s pretty straightforward from there — initiate a conversation with Sable every single day without fail. At first she won’t have much to say, but after 11 days she opens up… like, really opens up.

I’m the oldest of three sisters myself (well, seven kids altogether… listen, it’s complicated), so when I saw this scene I honestly wondered why someone started cutting onions right under my eyes.

After this tear-jerking conversation, she’ll start gifting you pattern sets each day, so be sure to keep speaking to her for an additional 10 more days for 21 days total.

She has 10 different pattern sets, with each set containing 20 patterns:

  • Polka-dot print
  • Striped
  • Checkered 1
  • Checkered 2
  • Traditional 1
  • Traditional 2
  • Retro
  • Natural
  • Toys
  • Cool

Please note that these are not the same patterns as the Pro Custom designs and can only be used when customizing select furniture.

And that’s how you unlock Sable’s patterns in Animal Crossing: New Horizons! Which pattern is your favorite? Let us know in the comments, and be sure to check out the full Hey Poor Player Animal Crossing: New Horizons Guide hub for any other questions you may have!

Born at a very young age; self-made thousandaire. Recommended by 4 out of 5 people that recommend things. Covered in cat hair. Probably the best sleeper in the world. Still haven't completed the civil war quest in Skyrim but I'm kind of okay with that. Too rad to be sad.
