Silent Hill Composer Akira Yamaoka will help create the haunting soundscapes for The Medium, Bloober Team’s latest psychological horror title
Polish studio Bloober Team is no stranger to the psychological horror genre. Over the past few years, the studio has released several sanity-shredding titles, including Layers of Fear, Observer, and, most recently, Blair Witch on consoles and PC. Now, the company is getting ready to deliver a fresh dose of nightmare fuel to players with The Medium, coming to Xbox Series X and PC this holiday season.
You can find a rundown of the game below courtesy of Bloober Team:
“Players will find themselves in the body of Marianne, a medium hounded by visions, living and interacting across two worlds: the real, and the spirit world. Nothing is what it seems, everything has another side. As a medium with access to both worlds, you have a wider perspective and can see more clearly that there’s no one simple truth to what others perceive.”
In The Medium, the gameplay centers around the theme of how your perspective changes your perception. As Marianne, you’ll explore various locales and interact with both the real and spirit worlds to uncover the meaning behind her haunting visions.

One detail that will surely please fans of the survival horror genre is the involvement of Akira Yamaoka. The legendary Silent Hill composer will be working alongside Bloober Team’s Arkadiusz Reikowski to create unique atmospheres across both the physical and spirit worlds.
