You can take the villager out of the camp, but you can’t take the camp out of the villager
If you’re like me, you’ve probably given up any semblance of a real life to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons nonstop since quarantine started. Despite my house almost being paid off in full, I’m still learning new things about this adorable yet deep game every day; for example, did you know that you can snag Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp items for your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? All you’ll need is both games and a (free) Nintendo account. Here’s how:
First, dust off your Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp app. I hadn’t opened it in so long that I had to delete it, then re-download before it would update completely; luckily, all my saves were still there, complete with my happy little campers.
See that “four square” button? Head over to it and tap “My Nintendo,” where you’ll see special rewards and missions available. Right at the top should be one called “Animal Crossing: New Horizons Special Order Ticket,” where, upon tapping “redeem,” you’ll immediately be gifted 50 Leaf Tickets to use in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and a code for your Nintendo Switch.
Now, keep that code up on your phone as you head over to your Nintendo Switch. Go to the Nintendo eShop and go all the way down to the bottom and select “Enter Code.” Enter the code from your phone on that screen, confirm, and then exit the Nintendo eShop. At this point, let your Nintendo Switch update Animal Crossing: New Horizons — saving and exiting the game is the way to do this — so the Nintendo eShop can load the items into your game.
After Animal Crossing: New Horizons has updated, you can now get your exclusive Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp items for your island! Simply head on over to Resident Services, interact with the Nook Stop, and choose “Nook Shopping.”
From there, you’ll want to choose “Special Goods,” then tap the R button for “Promotion.”
And voila! You now have the ability to order items like the Brake Tapper machine, a campsite sign, and a fortune-cookie cart. There are even small models of your modern and vintage campers available to purchase (emphasis on the word “small”).
