Fun With Flotsam and Jetsam.
From time to time, everyone’s favorite seafaring seagull, Gulliver, will go full Gilligan and wash up on the beaches of your island paradise in Animal Crossing New Horizons on the Nintendo Switch. Lucky for you, going out of your way to lend this feathered fellow a hand will score you some nice exclusive goodies to give your home a welcome dash of culture.
When you first spot Gulliver, he’ll be sleeping on the beach. Talk to him a few times to wake him up, and he’ll attempt to use his phone to contact his crew to rescue him, only to find it was damaged in the wreck and won’t work unless you find the five communicator pieces that have been scattered across your island.
So long as you’ve got your trusty shovel, locating the five communicator parts is a breeze. To find them, you’ll need to visit the beaches of your island and keep an eye out for small holes squirting water in the sand. Look closely, as they appear and disappear pretty quickly. Once you find one, be sure to dig in that spot. You’ll either uncover a Manila Clam (which you can use to craft Fish Bait), or one of Gulliver’s missing communicator parts. After digging around in the muck on a few beaches, you should be able to find all of the pieces without much trouble. Easy peasy!
Now that you have all of the parts make your way back to where you first found Gulliver. After you return to him with all of the missing pieces of his communicator, he’ll thank you and contact his crew (who’ve probably grown a bit weary of the waterlogged adventurer at this point) for an extraction.
Be sure to check your mail the next day to collect your reward for all of your troubles. The rewards for helping Gulliver are pieces of furniture inspired by landmarks from all over the world – check back soon for our full list of Gulliver’s rewards.
Keep in mind that Gulliver appears randomly. So it’s smart to check your beaches daily because you never know when the clumsy captain will wash up next.
