It looks like we won’t have to wait too much longer to get an early taste of terror in Resident Evil 3.
While Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 isn’t due to be released for over a month, players will soon be able to get an early taste of what awaits in this remake of the company’s 1999 survival horror masterpiece. The company has announced plans to release a playable demo of the game via their official Resident Evil Twitter account.

Capcom’s decision to release an early demo for Resident Evil 3 shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. They released a playable demo for their Resident Evil 2 remake in the run-up to its January 25, 2019 launch. However, it had its own unique twist. Unlike most demos, the one for Resident Evil 2 was a one-shot affair. Set in the iconic RPD building, you could only play it once. Furthermore, it had to be completed within a strict 30-minute time frame. It was a novel idea, for sure. And many fans raced to see who could survive and clear the demo the fastest.
As of the time of this writing, it’s unclear as to whether or not the Resident Evil 3 demo will be a similar single-serving experience. But considering the immense popularity of the RE2 demo, it wouldn’t be surprising.
Resident Evil 3 will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3. In addition to the core game, it will also come bundled with Resident Evil: Resistance, an asymmetric, card-based multiplayer title. In it, players must work together as survivors to outwit the Mastermind, who can utilize a combination of traps and monsters to stop them.
If you missed it, here’s the latest trailer for RE3.
