Get ready to court love-struck button-mashers in Arcade Spirits, coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch this Spring.
Following its love-struck release on PC last year, Fiction Factory Games romantic comedy visual novel Arcade Spirits will be making its way to the Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 digitally on May 1st, publisher PQube announced today. Cupid will be firing off a volley of pixelated love with a retail version of the game on May 5th.
To celebrate the announcement, PQube released a gloriously 80s-inspired trailer full of synthwave, arcade games, and more pixelated paramours than you can shake a joystick at. Check it out below:
Here’s a rundown of the game courtesy of the publisher:
“Arcade Spirits, a romantic comedy visual novel, follows an alternate timeline set in the year 20XX where the 1983 video game crash never occurred. After losing your job, you find a new future at at the Funplex, a popular arcade, home to a host of unique personalities and customers. Where will this new-found path in life take you? Who will you meet along the way? Will you find the romance you’re seeking?”
Kenny scored the PC version of Arcade Spirits a 3.5 out of 5 in his review last February saying: “Arcade Spirits is far from being a traditional visual novel, but that doesn’t make it a bad one. While I’m doubtful that it will have the same reach as many of its Eastern-themed counterparts, I still see potential for it to draw people in. And, between its unique premise, down-to-earth approach, and novel mechanics, those very same people are likely to walk away satisfied.”
