RocketPunch Games brings hard-hitting mech action to the PlayStation Store.
Following a successful release on Steam last summer, RocketPunch Games has announced that their frantic, mech-based action platformer, Hardcore Mecha is now available for the PlayStation 4 in North America.
The game was Kickstarted in 2016 and is described by the developer as a mix of SNK’s beloved run and gun series Metal Slug and Super Robot Wars. In Hardcore Mecha, players assume the role of Tarethur, a soldier of fortune tasked with locating a missing intelligence officer on the planet Mars. It features a campaign spread across eight chapters and 18 missions, a survival mode, and a multiplayer component, where players choose from a selection of customizable mechas and compete in online or split-screen PVP battles for up to four players.
“Following Hardcore Mecha‘s success in Japan, we were very excited to bring the game to North American and European audiences. With its multitude of mechas and fighting combo options, there is lots to engage with,” said Louiky, Producer at RocketPunch Games in a press release distributed this morning. “It’s the ultimate 2D mech fighting experience and we hope players enjoy it.”
Hardcore Mecha is now available on the PlayStation Store. To celebrate the game’s release, RocketPunch has released a new gameplay trailer showcasing both the game’s single-player campaign and multiplayer in action.
