Bandai Namco sets the mood for Dragon Ball Kakarot’s January 17 launch with a flashy opening video.
With the release of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot less than a month away, publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has shared the opening cinematic for the upcoming Cyberconnect 2-developed action RPG.
The cinematic, which is rendered entirely in-engine, clocks in at just over two minutes long and is set to Hironobu Kageyama’s theme, “Cha-La Head-Cha-La.” It showcases a variety of familiar faces you’ll see (and presumably punch) and locations lifted from the long-running anime franchise while highlighting the game’s vibrant, cel-shaded visuals.

Those wanting to get their mitts on the game won’t have to wait much longer. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will release on January 17, 2020, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Sadly, the game will be skipping the Switch for the time being, as AltChar reported last month. However, that’s not to say it couldn’t release on the platform further down the road, as Bandai Namco did with the Arc System Works-developed one-on-one fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ.
