The Game Bakers offer first look at Haven showcasing the game’s, combat, crafting, and exploration mechanics
Furi developers The Game Bakers have released fresh gameplay footage from their upcoming RPG Haven, which is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
The footage offers a tantalizing look at the game as dual protagonists Yu and Kay glide over scenic alien grasslands, craft items out of materials found in the wild, an battle a variety of strange creatures that call the game’s shattered planet home. And, as you’d expect from the studio behind Furi (you can find our full review here), it’s all set to some stellar, 80s-tinged synthwave tunes to tickle your eardrums.

“Haven is a very accessible RPG, a relaxing game. It’s purposefully a very different experience from Furi.” writes Emeric Thoa, the game creative director in a press release distributed today. “But as with Furi, we tried to make a game that you have never experienced before. The story of a couple fighting for their freedom, an established relationship: what love looks like when you’ve moved past the early seduction phase, when you can be your true self with one another… I don’t think that’s been done much in video games.”
Haven is currently slated to release on consoles and PC next year.
So, what do you think of Haven from what you’ve seen so far? Are you looking forward to exploring this strange alien landscape alone or with a friend in the game’s cooperative mode? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
