Gust may have already spoiled us this year with Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists and Atelier Lulua, but hold onto your cauldrons, because we’re getting a third game in the series this year. That’s right, folks, Koei Tecmo has announced that Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout is on its way as well.

The first of an all-new Atelier saga, Atelier Ryza follows the story of teenage tomboy Ryza, who hopes to one day escape the routine and mundane life of her village, and gets her wish after meeting a mysterious old man who teaches her the ways of alchemy. Little does Ryza know however, that she will soon have to use her newfound abilities to help save her village from an evil lurking below the surface. At least she’ll finally get some excitement!

GUST has stated that Atelier Ryza promises to be a more immersive experience than past Atelier games, thanks to the inclusion of more detailed shadows, and a richer explorable world. Additionally, it has also been confirmed that new mechanics will be implemented into the game as well, such as a more in-depth synthesis process, and the ability to use tools in order to affect which items a player will get from gathering spots.

Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout is slated to release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam on October 29. Are you ready to embark on yet another Atelier adventure this year? What other mechanics do you hope to see in this game? Let us know in the comments below!

Starting out with nothing more than a Game Boy and a copy of Donkey Kong Land, Kenny has happily been gaming for almost his entire life. Easily-excitable and a bit on the chatty side, Kenny has always been eager to share gaming-related thoughts, opinions, and news with others and has been doing so on Hey Poor Player since 2014 and has previously worked with both PKMNcast and SCATcast. Although his taste in gaming spreads across a wide number of companies and consoles, Kenny holds a particular fondness for Nintendo handheld consoles. He is also very proud of his amiibo collection. You can also find him on Twitter @SuperBayleef talking about video games and general nonsense. Some of his favorite games include Tetris Attack, Pokémon Black Version 2, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Mega Man X, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (among many others).
