Arizona Sunshine Developer Vertigo Games announces new IP called After the Fall, 2020 release

Did Someone Say Left 4 Dead in VR?

After the Fall is the latest game to be announced at E3 2019 by developer Vertigo Games. The studio, best known for VR shooter Arizona Sunshine, says that its latest title is set to launch in 2020.

Continuing its strong form with VR-related games, After the Fall is a solo or multiplayer VR action FPS that brings players into a ‘vast, hostile world’. Vertigo Games have identified playing with your mates as their key feature for this title, allowing you to connect with people in a shared world across the globe.

Like Arizona Sunshine, After the Fall is being designed from the ground up with a rich backstory. This time up is a post-apocalyptic, ice-covered 1980’s, Los Angeles. An unknown cataclysm has decimated the world and its down to you and your three squadmates to fight for control of LA.

Vertigo Games promise you’ll get to fight relentless hordes of unspecified enemies and fight massive bosses – and of course – craft a load of guns and melee weapons. Finally, they’re giving players some devastating powers that are summoned with gestures.

The folks at Vertigo Games were nice to enough to include a rather short trailer which you can see below. It doesn’t really give much away, and it isn’t representative of what the final game will be like, but it’s worth a punt if you’re wondering about the vibe they’re going for.

If the game piques your interest why don’t you sign up for a chance to play during their closed beta? Let us know if you have in the comments below.

Since my Dad bought me a Master System after a stint in hospital I've been utterly obsessed with video games. Sonic The Hedgehog was my first love, but since then, I've not been fussy with genres - RPGs, FPSs, MMORPGs, beat 'em ups and sports simulators - I play them all.
