EA Play Kicks Off E3 2019 With Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Is The Force Strong With This One?

EA kicked off E3 2019 with a 15-minute gameplay demo of  Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The game is being developed by Respawn, the studio best known for Titanfall and the enormously successful Apex Legends.

The title is set in the period between episode III and IV, where the Jedi order is being wiped out by the empire. You  play as Cal, who Respawn game directors Vince Zampella and Stig Asmussen confirmed was a canon character in the Star Wars universe.

The gameplay reveal didn’t give much away in terms of the story, but the combat seemed to a mixture of Dark Souls and the newer Assassins Creed games, with an emphasis on deflecting, parrying and throwing your lightsaber around the place.

Zampella and Asmussen spent a great deal of time reassuring players that they’re producing a game specifically for Star Wars fans in mind, perhaps a nod to the outrage caused by DICE’s Battlefront 2. Finally, both game directors confirmed that the game will ship on the 15th November 2019.

Since my Dad bought me a Master System after a stint in hospital I've been utterly obsessed with video games. Sonic The Hedgehog was my first love, but since then, I've not been fussy with genres - RPGs, FPSs, MMORPGs, beat 'em ups and sports simulators - I play them all.
