Psychic shoot ’em up ESP Ra.De. soars onto the Switch and PS4 later this year

The emulation specialists at developer M2 have announced plans to bring Cave’s cult classic bullet hell shooter ESP. Ra.De. to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 later this year as part of the company’s M2 Shot Triggers collection.

Originally released in 1998, the game allows players to choose from one of three espers — humans with powerful psychic abilities — as they take the fight to the skies to liberate the world from the clutches of the evil psychic Mrs. Gara and her armies.

ESP. Ra.De. marks one of the iconic developer’s earliest ventures into the shoot ’em up genre. Since then, the developer has become synonymous with shmups, releasing such celebrated titles as Dangun Feveron, Espgaluda, Guwange, and Death Smiles, just to name a few.

At the time of this writing, no solid release date has been confirmed. However, the company plans to release ESP. Ra.De. on the PlayStation 4 and Switch sometime in 2019.

Are you looking forward to diving into this bullet hell shooter when it releases later this year? What other shooters would you like to see make their way to the Shot Triggers collection? Be sure to sound off in the comments and let us know.
