Viva la Dark Horse!

Still poring over The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild–Creating a Champion? Then you’ll likely want to make way for The Art of Super Mario Odyssey. While concept art from the Japanese release spread across the internet last fall, Dark Horse Comics just confirmed they’ll localize this special art book for American audiences. As reported by Polygon, it’ll release October 22nd for $49.99. Pricey? Sure, but with 368 pages to comb, it’s certainly worth it.

To get into the nitty-gritty, The Art of Super Mario Odyssey features a treasure trove of concept art and cut ideas from Mario’s Switch adventure, including cut costumes, Rosalina’s cameo guitar-play, and, in an uncanny coincidence, Nintendo’s take on “Bowsette.” Naturally, all this is accompanied by commentary from Super Mario Odyssey‘s own developers, elevating this book into a must-own for any and all Nintendo nerds. (Including yours truly; ooh, that it must be a half-year away!)

Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and TFAW are reportedly prepping pre-orders for this special artbook, but will you be purchasing The Art of Super Mario Odyssey? Let us know in the comments below!
