Children of the Plague explores the cause of the plague, and the games main enemy, the rats! This episode of the webseries explains the key part the rats play in A Plague Tale’s atmosphere and the narrative of the game. Striking on our perception of wild rats and the fears that still come to us when we see them in everyday life.
“Rats spark disgust, they represent a hidden part of our world. They live beneath us, in the sewers. In urban settings, they are feared because they remind us of filth and disease. We took this concept even further by making them central to the game: our rats literally embody the plague.”
