Ace Combat 7

While its release has hit some serious turbulence in the past, it seems like the long-awaited release of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is finally on the horizon. With Project Aces’ latest airborne epic set to launch in just a few weeks, publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer showcasing the fierce firepower of the F-14D Super Tomcat.

Manufactured by German manufacturer Grumman Aircraft Corporation, the F-14D is a supersonic, twin-engine, sweep-wing strike fighter is capable of raining hell onto the battlefield with its laser-guided bombs. Watch it turn the enemy forces into twisted metal in the trailer below:

The latest entry in Bandai Namco‘s long-running dogfighting series, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown features both standard and VR-optimized sorties (on PSVR) that pull players into the experience like never before. I was able to go hands-on with its PSVR component way back at E3 2017, and while it was certainly a stomach-churning experience, I walked away very impressed with just how much immersion it brought to the table.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will release on January 18th, 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
