Koei Tecmo America has announced that Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World is making will be making its way Westward.

An all-new and entirely unique Atelier series spin-off, Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists will put players in the shows of Nelke von Lestamm, a young noblewoman determined to make a name for herself. However, there’s a catch with this game; Nelke herself is neither an alchemist, nor aspiring to be one. Rather, it’s her duty to help build up Westwald into the most prosperous version of itself that it can be; and to do that, she’ll need help from as many alchemists as she can gather.

Players will be able to draw in and hire a large number of familiar alchemists from past Atelier games, which can then be tasked with venturing outside of Westwald in order to collect materials and fight monsters, and, most importantly, to create useful and profitable items with alchemy. Each alchemist will have their own strengths and weaknesses, meaning that it will be up to the player to manage them properly.

At the end of each week, players will be given a Weekly Report in order to show them how well their town has been doing – including amount of income made, number of properties owned, town population, and more. It will be up to players to keep these numbers rising, should they want to make Westwald prosperous. Additionally, players will also be able to interact with the residents of Westwald, deepening their bonds with Nelke. As with previous Atelier series these games, these events will allow players to learn more about their fellow allies, and can even unlock new facilities, skills, and recipes.

Nelke & The Lgendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World will be hitting the West next year, on March 26, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC via Steam. Are you looking forward to embarking on this unique Atelier journey yourself? Let us know in the comments below!
