Famitsu: Level-5’s Cancelled Horror RPG Ushiro Is Being Resurrected For The Switch

It seems there’s life after death for Level-5’s grim role-playing game Ushiro

Recently, the Japanese weekly gaming publication Famitsu had been teasing the possible revival of one of Level-5’s canceled projects in celebration of the Fukuoka-based studio’s 25th anniversary. We now know that game just so happens to be the studio’s canceled PlayStation Portable horror RPG, Ushiro.

The latest issue of the magazine won’t be available until Thursday, October 25th. However, the online preview for the issue is titled “Whhat!!! The Phantom Game Ushiro [is Coming?] to Switch!?”. The preview is accompanied by a magazine scan featuring images that very much resemble scenes showcased in the game’s original 2008 trailer. Speaking of the trailer, you can check it out for yourself below:

Ushiro’s story takes place in present-day Japan. In it, the player controls a young girl who’s able to interact with the spirits of the dead. It features a turn-based battle system where the spirits that accompany the player must battle against the evil spirits that wander the city.

We’ll be able to share more details on this spooky adventure as they become available, presumably after the latest Famitsu drops later this week.
