No, really, what’s that first one? The answer may depress you…

Believe it or not, 2006’s Okami has won its second — yes, second — Guinness World Record. As reported by Twinfinite, the news comes from Capcom’s Comic-Con panel, where it was announced Okami received the award for “Most critically acclaimed video game starring an animal character.” Seeing as how Amaterasu is a sun god taking the form of a wolf, it certainly seems apt!
…so, what was that first record? It was actually awarded back in 2006, and, well, it’s gonna sting to read: “least commercially successful winner of a Game of the Year award.”
Ouch. Painful memories of Clover Studios, much? Regardless, we certainly hope Hideki Kamiya and the rest of Okami’s developers are proud of this news.
