Ayane, Bayman, Marie Rose, and Honoka return to the ring in Dead or Alive 6, new Lost Paradise stage brings Jurassic Park vibes to Team Ninja’s one-on-one fighter
Today at Tokyo Game Show 2018, publisher Koei Tecmo America revealed four returning characters who’ll be making their way to Dead or Alive 6 when it releases next year. These fan favorites run the gamut from a hard-hitting merc to a lethal kunoichi, and they’re looking better than ever thanks to Team Ninja’s unrivaled attention to detail.
First up is the purple-haired ninja Ayane. In Dead or Alive 6, she is tasked with hunting down Kasumi, her half-sister. Dubbed “The Killer kunoichi,” she is a skilled Mugen Tenshin Hajinmon practitioner who struggles to keep her feelings for her sister in check as she competes in the tournament.
Despite her tender age, Honoka, Dead or Alive’s “Super-Secret Fighter Chick,” is a fierce professional wrestler and master of her own fighting style – Honoka Fu. Her right hand is imbued with a strange glow, and she packs near superhuman strength, allowing her to bring down even the fiercest opponents.
Marie Rose is a talented Swedish martial artist. She uses a fighting style adopted from the Russian armed forces that emphasizes fluid movements and using her small frame to her advantage. She’s an expert when it comes to counters and exploiting her opponent’s attacks to gain the upper hand.
Lastly, the series’ former elite assassin Bayman will be returning for this year’s tournament. Utilizing his distinctive Combat Sambo style, he delivers unyielding punishment to his adversaries. His time as a mercenary made him a hardened killer, and he brings that same brutal efficiency he learned on the battlefield to the tournament to crush anyone who gets in his way.
In addition to these characters, Koei Tecmo also revealed a new stage called “Lost Paradise” that will be featured in the game. It’s a jungle-themed arena littered with man-made structures and large eggs which, when struck, will reveal the dinos inside. However, be sure to mind the mother Pteranodon. She doesn’t take too kindly to having her nest disturbed. This stage is also lined with an electric fence to deal extra damage. And if you manage to fall to the jungle below, you’ll be greeted with a hungry Tyrannosaurus who’s just waiting to take a bite out of anyone foolish enough to get too close.
Ayane, Marie Rose, Honoka, and Bayman will be joining the previously confirmed fighters Rig, Helena Douglas, Ryu Hayabusa, Hayate, Kasumi, Hitomi, Leifang, Jann Lee, Zack, and Diego.
Dead or Alive 6 is slated to release on February 15, 2019, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. For more on the game, be sure to check out our hands-on preview from E3.
