The best NES game that never was is coming to the Switch very soon with Alwa’s Awakening
If you’re a fan of pixelated adventures then you’re in for a treat. Alwa’s Awakening, developer Elden Pixels’ side-scrolling love letter to the days of the NES, will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch eShop on September 27.
The game originally launched last year on PC last February (you can read Mike’s review here) and was slated for release on the Wii U until development was shifted to Nintendo’s newest console/handheld hybrid. In Alwa’s Awakening, players take control of Zoe, a heroine sent from another world to bring peace to the land of Alwa. To save the land she must explore a large interconnected world that’s teeming with secrets while battling monsters with her magical staff.
Want to see this charming 8-bit adventure in action? Of course, you do. Check out the trailer below:
Alwa’s Awakening will be available exclusively as a digital release (That is, unless the folks at Limited Run Games work their magic, hint, hint.) – and will be priced at $9.99.
