Bethesda Discusses Nintendo Exclusives, Smash Bros.

Doomguy in Smash, here we…come?

Been dreaming of witnessing the Dragonborn’s glory in Smash Bros.? So has Bethesda: in an interview between Metro and Bethesda VP Pete Hines, the subject of Nintendo Switch exclusives led to an interesting question: has the developer of Skyrim and DOOM (2016) discussed with Nintendo about the possibility of their games appearing in Smash?

In two cryptic words, “oh yeah.”

Whether that’s led to anything definitive is up in the air — it should be reminded Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches for Switch this December 7th — but perhaps Bethesda’s burgeoning relationship with Nintendo has blossomed into something more? Personally, I’d rather see Banjo-Kazooie as a Western rep, but that’s just me…

Naturally, other Nintendo-related subjects popped up throughout, such as their ongoing numerous Switch ports, the possibility of Switch exclusives (“It’s possible”) or a Mario + Rabbids-esque title involving Nintendo characters (a laughter of dismissal, than a vague “We’re always discussing with them”), but The Big N is just the tip of the iceberg — Mr. Hines also discusses the next Elder Scrolls games, Fallout 76, and Wolfenstein III. Needless to say, we highly recommend reading the full Metro interview for more information.
