Dotemu Announces Windjammers 2

Gaming’s best competitive disc-slinger will return next year with Windjammers 2

Well, I certainly didn’t expect to start my day by saying it, but here it is: we’re getting an honest-to-goodness Windjammers sequel.

Publisher Dotemu today announced that Windjammers 2 will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch in 2019. The game will feature hand-drawn visuals, new stages and players, brand-new power moves, and more. Additionally, it will also feature a slew of enhanced online and offline multiplayer modes.

Check out the announcement trailer below:

“Growing the Windjammers community over the past two years has been a lot of fun, and with that growth we see a great opportunity to continue to innovate on its timeless and fun gameplay,” said Cyrille Imbert, CEO of Dotemu. “Thanks to that experience, we have a clear idea of how to make Windjammers 2 as fun and entertaining as the original.”

Additionally, if you missed Dotemu’s recent re-release of the original Windjammers, Dotemu plans to bring it to the Nintendo Switch on October 23rd. A digital-only release (unless Limited Run Games works their magic again), it will be priced at $14.99.
