The Arcade Crew has announced that they will be publishing indie developer 1P2P Studios’ Young Souls.

Young Souls follows the story of teenage twins Jenn and Tristian who one day find themselves abandoned, and without any kind of family except for one another, until they are eventually adopted by a kindly scientist and move into his home within a small port town. While life for the twins becomes calm for a while, even to the point of being boring, things soon turn upside down when they discover a portal to an alternate world — an alternate world which threatens to destroy their very own. Not ones to back down from a challenge, Jenn and Tristan enter the portal — completely unaware of the immense difficulties that lay before them.

Young Souls will feature gameplay comprised of a unique hybrid that is one part classic, arcade-style beat ’em up, and one part level-grinding, gear-collecting RPG. Players will be able to explore a number of artfully rendered environments, complimented by the sounds of Joachim Neuville, as they fight their way through a strange and dangerous world. The game will also feature easy-to-use drop-in/drop-out mechanics, so the adventure won’t have to stop just because of a change in players.

Currently, there is no information regarding a release date for Young Souls, nor what systems it is expected to be on, but you can be that we’ll fill you in as soon as we know. What are your thoughts on Young Souls so far? Let us know in the comments below!

Starting out with nothing more than a Game Boy and a copy of Donkey Kong Land, Kenny has happily been gaming for almost his entire life. Easily-excitable and a bit on the chatty side, Kenny has always been eager to share gaming-related thoughts, opinions, and news with others and has been doing so on Hey Poor Player since 2014 and has previously worked with both PKMNcast and SCATcast. Although his taste in gaming spreads across a wide number of companies and consoles, Kenny holds a particular fondness for Nintendo handheld consoles. He is also very proud of his amiibo collection. You can also find him on Twitter @SuperBayleef talking about video games and general nonsense. Some of his favorite games include Tetris Attack, Pokémon Black Version 2, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Mega Man X, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (among many others).
