Brutal Arcade Sports Title Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition Coming This September

Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition blitzes the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch September 18, includes new modes, races, and more

Mutant Football League has been cracking skulls on the gridiron for a little while now. A spiritual successor to EA’s beloved and brutal 1993 hit Mutant League Football, the game launched on Steam last year, with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions landing on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live this past January. Now, things are about to get physical.

This game’s developer Digital Dreams Entertainment today confirmed that the physical Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on September 18, 2018. This updated package is priced at $29.99 and includes a number of tweaks and improvements. The titular Dynasty Mode is a single player experience where players assume the role of coach and GM of your very own Mutant Football League team of rookies and shape them into bloodied MVPs over several seasons. The mode includes multiple seasons, the ability to trade players, cumulative player experience, salary management, and more. Additionally, two brand new species, six new teams, and trap-filled arenas breathe new life into America’s favorite bloodsport.

“We’re looking forward to introducing Mutant Football League to an all new audience with its debut on the Nintendo Switch,” said Michael Mendheim, Creative Director of Digital Dreams. “With the Dynasty Edition, old and new players alike can really build onto the core game to make their own unique experience. The only predictable element across the board is broken bones and fun.”

Mutant Football League began its journey to the championships of over-the-top sports titles on Kickstarter, where 3,137 backers pledged $138,092 to fund the project. The game is spearheaded by Mutant League Football designer Michael Mendheim, and features commentary courtesy of Tim Kitzrow, who voiced the announcer in Midway Games’ hit two-on-two basketball title NBA Jam.
