Finland – Winter Storm Added to Sudden Strike 4

New Sudden Strike 4 Expansion Pack, Finland – Winter Storm, Available Now

Kalypso Media have announced the release of their new chapter in their WW2 strategy game Sudden Strike 4. The new chapter, named Finland – Winter Storm is based on the Russian advances on Finland during and after the Winter War in 1939, up until the Vyborg Offensive in 1944.

Finland – Winter Storm offers players two new mini-campaigns and six missions. The expansion recreates some of the war’s most important conflicts between Finland and Russia, featuring both a Finnish and Soviet campaign. When playing as the Soviets, players will attempt to capture the village of Suomussalmi  (based on the battle historical of Suomussalmi), protect the railway to Murmansk and break through the Finnish defensive lines during the Vyborg Offensive. During the Finnish campaign players must retake and defend the village of Suomussalmi, defeat the Soviet reinforcements, reclaim the Lähde sector and hold during the Battle of Tali-Ihantala (known for being the largest battle in the history of the Nordic countries.)

As well as the new campaigns, Finland-Winter includes three new doctrine commanders and nineteen new vehicles. The expansion pack is available now on Steam and will be included in Sudden Strike 4: European Battlefields Edition for Xbox One, released 22nd June 2018.
