Heroic swordsman Adol Christin showcases his skills in the latest Ys VIII trailer, comes to Switch on June 26 in North America
With the Switch release of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana just over two months away, publisher NIS America has released a new trailer to get players primed for the game’s launch. The brief trailer clocks in at just 45 seconds long. In it, we see the series’ iconic protagonist Adol Christin as he explores the game’s cursed Isle of Seiren, where he and his fellow passengers of the Lombardia have washed ashore following an attack by a massive sea creature. Throughout the adventure, players must work to rescue the scattered survivors and find a way off of the mysterious island. Seriously, what is it with Adol and shipwrecks, anyway?
Want to see Adol in action? Of course you do! Be sure to check out the trailer below:
NIS America recently announced that players who purchase the game will receive Adol’s Silver Armor costume for free. This content was originally offered as a pre-order bonus for the previously-released versions of Ys VIII.
Originally released last September for the PlayStation 4 and Vita, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is coming to the Nintendo Switch on June 26, 2018 in North America. Here’s hoping the Switch version of the game manages to avoid the many issues users have reported while playing the recently released PC port. These problems have ranged from cosmetic issues like texture flickering and sync issues to bigger problems including frequent crashes. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed. Ys VIII is fantastic, and it’d be a shame if less than stellar optimization holds the Switch version back.
So, will you be diving into this adventure when Ys VIII lands on the Switch this summer? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
