It’s true: Weekly Shonen Jump’s romcom manga hit, Nisekoi, is getting a live-action movie adaption! Details remain scarce, but according to Anime News Network, the latest Jump issue confirms it’ll open in Japan this December. Any information on casting or localized releases remain unknown.
Serialized from 2011 to 2016 and adapted into two anime seasons, Nisekoi revolves around the faux romance of Raku Ichijo and Chitoge Kirisaki, who must keep appearances to prevent all-out war between their mafia families. As Raku searches for his childhood love — a mysterious girl who granted him a locked pendant — he gradually realizes she may be among his high school clique. Is it Chitoge, current crush Kosaki Onodera, Kirisaki’s bodyguard Seishiro Tsugumi, or daughter of the police chief Marika Tachibana?
