Geralt joins the cast of Soul Calibur VI, allowing players to clash swords at Kaer Morhen

Publisher Bandai Namco today released a new trailer for their upcoming one-on-one fighter Soul Calibur VI showcasing Geralt of Rivia. The star of Polish studio CD Projekt RED‘s massively successful RPG series, Geralt looks to be a formidable opponent in the arena. He utilizes both his mastery of the blade and powerful Sign abilities to gain the upper hand against his opponents.
Fittingly enough, Geralt’s stage is the iconic training ground of Kaer Morhen. And, if the accompanying music is any indication, it looks to feature a fittingly Witcher-esque orchestral theme to drive the action forward.
Don’t just take my word for it. Watch the White Wolf of Rivia unleash his fury in the trailer below:
Geralt is the latest character to join the roster of Soul Calibur VI, preceded by the reveals of returning characters Sophitia, Mitsurugi, Nightmare, Xianghua, Kilik, Ivy, and Zasalamel.
While Bandai Namco has yet to confirm a release date for Soul Calibur VI, it’s currently slated to release on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC sometime this year.
So, what do you think of Geralt’s addition to the Soul Calibur roster? Does the White Wolf have what it takes to go toe-to-toe with the franchise’s fiercest warriors? Sound off in the comments section and let us know.
