Hello childhood, my old friend…
God, remember when you left your Tamagotchi to die because it snapped off that little keychain you had and you couldn’t find it for at least another few weeks after? Those were the worst and best times.
But now you don’t have to be worried about that kind of thing! Because My Tamagotchi Forever is officially coming to Android and iOS, both for your tablet and mobile device. Now you genuinely don’t have any bloody excuse not to look after your Tamagotchi’s, so thank you Bandai Namco for installing more anxiety into my personal database. Far more than I needed actually, but hey sometimes you’ve got to take risks when you want to stroll down memory lane and lose yourself in the world of Tamagotchi once more.
Jokes and anxieties aside, Tamagotchi created such a huge craze and following back when it was in the 90’s. Kids and teens couldn’t get enough of it, even if they were just knock-offs! Everyone wanted one. So for My Tamagotchi Forever to be released on mobile and tablet is such a huge opportunity, one that I’m sure many will eagerly jump head first in to explore all the wild possibilities the game has on offer.
And if you’ve not had a Tamagotchi before or you’d like to get your kid started then look no further! I’ll offer a very quick explanation.
The main thing you have to do is care for your Tamagotchi. This means feeding it, playing with it, taking it for walks and cleaning up its poop, which they seem to do a lot of so yeah, that’s a thing. In the new Tamagotchi Forever, you’ll have to simply pick up from where you left off. Though, according to iOS Gadget Hacks there will be more realism than ever: this time giving your Tamagotchi a finite life cycle, making it more important than ever to care for your little friends.
From the looks of it there will be microtransactions, but considering it’s 2018 and that it’s a mobile game… I’m not too surprised about that. Only when we get our hands on it will we see how much these microtransactions matter.
Until March 15th, when the game comes out, all we can do is wait and hope the experience is just as fun on mobile/tablet as it was back when it was just an iconic little egg.
