Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms Blooms this March

Love and war continue, exclusively on the PlayStation Vita

Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms

NIS America has announced that their upcoming Otome visual novel Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms will be releasing North America and Europe in early March.

A direct sequel to Hakuoki: Kyoto WindsEdo Blossoms picks up right where the last game left off. Having experienced a brutal defeat in the Battle of Tobo-Fushimi, Chizuru finds herself retreating alongside the Shinsengumi — with whom she has forged unforgettable bonds over the past several years — back to Edo.

Although the return to Edo could have very well been an exciting one, Chizuru and her companions instead find a bittersweet homecoming awaiting them. Edo was no longer the city it once was, having undergone a great amount of change due to the ordeals it faced. With their very survival at stake, and few allies by their side, the Shinsengumi find themselves once again getting ready to protect what they hold dear — and are willing to fight for it with everything that they have. For a further look into the game, check out the list of key features below:

  • 12 Charming Bachelors – Start by choosing from one of 12 handsome bachelors and fall in love with Japanese history’s most famous warriors.
  • Multiple Endings, One True Love – Explore the gorgeous world of Hakuoki through narrative choices that unlock branching storylines and up to 30 different endings.
  • Beautiful History Comes Alive – The dramatic romance, friendship, and betrayal unfolds on your screen through fluid animation, vibrant art, and detailed CGs.

The story of the Shinsengumi will finally reach its conclusion when Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms releases March 13 in North America, and March 16 in Europe, on the PlayStation Vita. Starting out with nothing more than a Game Boy and a copy of Donkey Kong Land, Kenny has happily been gaming for almost his entire life. Easily-excitable and a bit on the chatty side, Kenny has always been eager to share gaming-related thoughts, opinions, and news with others and has been doing so on Hey Poor Player since 2014 and has previously worked with both PKMNcast and SCATcast. Although his taste in gaming spreads across a wide number of companies and consoles, Kenny holds a particular fondness for Nintendo handheld consoles. He is also very proud of his amiibo collection. You can also find him on Twitter @SuperBayleef talking about video games and general nonsense. Some of his favorite games include Tetris Attack, Pokémon Black Version 2, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Mega Man X, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (among many others).
