Co-op and PvP modes announced
Koei Tecmo has released new information regarding Attack on Titan 2‘s online features.
While the online co-op mode from the original Attack on Titan game is slated to return in Attack on Titan 2, the sequel will also feature an all-new competitive multiplayer option. Titled “Annihilation Mode”, this new mode will pit two 4-Scout teams against one another as they compete to see who can earn the highest score within the time limit. While defeating Titans is one way to rack up points, working together with your teammates will also be important. By utilizing proper teamwork and destroying each Titan body part before subjugating the Titan itself, players will find themselves earning hefty Chain Bonuses — a perfect way to gain the edge over your opponent.
Of course, stopping your opponents can be just as effective as racking up points. A number of different items useful for stopping opponent progress can be utilized by players, including Numbing Bullets — which cause temporary paralysis — and Paint Bullets — which temporarily blocks your opponent’s mini-map. Additionally, the stakes will raise drastically as each match begins to draw to a close, and players will earn double points during the last 60 seconds.
Koei Tecmo has also announced several new characters set to join the game’s 30+ character roster. Alongside previously announced characters — including the player’s Custom Scout — Keith Sadies, Kitz Woermann, Dhalis Zachary, and Dot Pyxis will also be joining the fray.
Attack on Titan 2 is slated for release on March 20, on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Are you planing on picking up Attack on Titan 2? If so, are you looking forward to the game’s Annihilation Mode? Let us know in the comments below!
