NISA confirms January 30 target date for PC port of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA, new screens showcase improved localization

It’s been a long and winding road for the PC version of Nihon Falcom’s Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA. The game, which was originally supposed to release alongside the PlayStation 4 and Vita versions received a last-minute delay due to performance issues, and the fate of the game had been, until now, uncertain.
Well, all of that changes today as publisher NIS America has announced that the PC version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA now has a target release date of January 30. The game will also include the planned localization revisions, adjustments to graphical text and re-recorded audio which are slated to release simultaneously on the PlayStation 4 and Vita.
NIS America has announced that For one week only, PC users will be able to download the following for free until Feb 6, 10:00am PST:
- Adol’s Adventure Essentials DLC – Includes Adol’s Silver Armor, Adol’s Adventurer Clothes, and Adol’s Survival Kit
- Digital Mini Art Book – Includes a 32-page full-color art book
- Digital Soundtrack Sampler – Includes 5 tracks
- Laxia’s “Eternian Scholar” Costume
In addition to announcing the planned PC release date, NISA has also provided a handful of screens for the PS4 version of the game showcasing the improved translation in the upcoming revision patch. From what we seen in these four images, it certainly seems like a marked improvement over what we saw last year. However, only time will tell if it maintains this same quality throughout.
