HTC Announces Vive Pro

Vive Wireless Adapter also announced

Vive Pro

Tech innovator HTC has unveiled its latest upcoming VR headset, the Vive Pro.

Originally reported on by Engadget, the Vive Pro will feature 2880 x 1600 OLED screens — far outperforming the original Vive’s 1080 x 1200 resolution — and will come with built-in headphones capable of utilizing 3D sound. HTC stated that the Pro will work in the same manner as the original Vive in terms of room-scale motion tracking, meaning that you won’t have to completely gouge your wallet should you choose to upgrade (although the Pro is probably going to be pretty pricey itself). Additionally, HTC has unveiled the Vive Wireless Adapter which, as you can probably infer based on its name, is a wireless adapter for the Vive.

Currently, there is no additional information regarding pricing or a release date for the Vive Pro, nor the Vive Wireless Adapter, but we’ll be sure to inform you once anything new crops up. Are you a VR fan? Are you looking forward to seeing what the Vive Pro has to offer? What other upgrades would you like to see from future VR tech? Starting out with nothing more than a Game Boy and a copy of Donkey Kong Land, Kenny has happily been gaming for almost his entire life. Easily-excitable and a bit on the chatty side, Kenny has always been eager to share gaming-related thoughts, opinions, and news with others and has been doing so on Hey Poor Player since 2014 and has previously worked with both PKMNcast and SCATcast. Although his taste in gaming spreads across a wide number of companies and consoles, Kenny holds a particular fondness for Nintendo handheld consoles. He is also very proud of his amiibo collection. You can also find him on Twitter @SuperBayleef talking about video games and general nonsense. Some of his favorite games include Tetris Attack, Pokémon Black Version 2, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Yo-kai Watch, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Mega Man X, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (among many others).
