Discover a magical world in Atelier’s newest game
Today, KOEI TECMO America announced the release date of Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings. An entry to Gust Studio’s series ‘Atelier’ that is both vibrant and artistic and, sadly, also the conclusion to the ‘Mysterious’ series. This latest entry follows Lydie and Suelle, a pair of alchemist twins.
Have you ever seen a painting and just wanted to jump into that world and explore it? Twins Lydie and Suelle allow you to do that in their tale, jumping into these paintings to discover marvellous, magical worlds. These worlds vary depending on the painting, examples being the otherworldly, light tones of the ‘Heavenly Flower Garden’ and the gloomy, depressing hues of a Halloweenesque painting of ‘The Spooky Forest.’ However, in their exploration, the outgoing twins discover that these brilliant worlds hold the lingering thoughts of their deceased mother. An interesting twist!
Any long-time fans of the series (as well as anyone who finds art fascinating or likes alchemy, maybe a little bit of both) will most definitely want to pre-order Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings. Those who pre-order via select retailers or Steam get added bonus DLC costumes that are inspired directly by legacy alchemists Marie and Erie. However, that isn’t all! Bonus content also includes a set of helpful alchemical ingredients and battle-themed music to get you in the mood for some ass-kicking! Also, those who purchase the game within 4 weeks from the title’s launch from the PlayStation store will receive two custom themes. Sounds cool, right?
If that’s not enough to get you excited then Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings will also include appearances from protagonists of previous titles. From Atelier Sophie and Atelier Firis, characters such as Firis, her older sister Liane, Sophie and her alchemy teacher Plachta will be there to help Lydie and Suelle fulfil their dream to be owners of the best atelier in the country. Ilmeria, another familiar face, will also be returning as a role of a teacher for these newbie alchemists!
Now if you can’t get enough of Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings, be sure to like KOEI TECHMO on Facebook, follow them on Twitter and remember to engage with the hashtag #AtelierLS.
Unfortunately, while fans will be sad to see the series end, at least they won’t have to wait too long to play as it will be released on March 27th, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
